Sometimes we all need a break from the routine. Lunch or dinner at a nearby restaurant can be just what's required for a fresh perspective. Listed here are the top 10 Yelp reviewed restaurants located less than five miles from the Joint Base Lewis-McChord main gate. Whether you're craving a burger, jonesing for some down home BBQ, or dreaming of something new and exotic to try, you'll find what you're looking for here, and it's practically in your own back yard.

Lake City Perk

More than just a standard coffee shop, Lake City Perk not only offers customers coffee beverages worthy of the Pacific Northwest, but also features sub sandwiches, gyros, falafel and hummus, among other tasty treats.

K.C. Burkie

If you're having trouble choosing between all American burgers or classic Asian cuisine, you can satisfy either craving at K.C. Burkie, located at 12926 Bridgeport Way SW. Along with the standard cheeseburger and fries, K.C. Burkie offers garden burgers, Korean BBQ inspired bulgogi burgers, and a variety of teriyaki dishes. Even their waffle fries are out of the ordinary.

K.C. Burkie is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. They're closed on Sunday.

Wow! Sushi

The aptly named Wow! Sushi at 15206 Union Ave. SW in Lakewood features fresh, beautiful sushi creations that please both the palate and the eye. But don't let the name fool you. If sushi's not your thing, Wow! Sushi could just as easily be Wow! Teriyaki, offering a variety of traditional teriyaki-style dishes. Not in the mood for teriyaki either? Then how about some flavorful, vegetable-packed Udon soup? Bottom line, if you're hungry for Japanese food, Wow! Sushi is where you need to be.

Hoagie's Sub Deli

OSJ International

OSJ International, which is located at 12822 Pacific Hwy. SW in Lakewood, specializes in Spanish, Latin American, and Caribbean cuisine from more than seven countries. According to their Facebook page (www.facebook.com/OSJInternational), OSJ has "some of the world's best food at one beautiful location. Whatever your taste, we have a dish to satisfy your appetite."

They're open Tuesday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday from noon to 9 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. They offer dine-in, take-out, and even a reduced price menu reserved for active-duty military and veterans known as the "Soldier's Special."
