I rented a limousine recently, so I know what the going rate is for a regular stretch limo, a Lincoln stretch limo, a stretch Hummer and a party bus. 

Which is why I'm also familiar with the going rate for a "hoopty limo."  You know the one: its interior is mismatched and faded, the leather seats have been torn and patched, and the left window doesn't quite roll all the way down. 

But hey, it's a limo, and it's cheaper than the rest.

What I've neglected to remember in the past is that Stonegate Pizza & Rum Bar owns a freakin' limo, and the pizza joint and bar is willing to pick your ass up for a night out on the town with the hopes that Stonegate will be one of the stops ... if not the only stop you need that evening.

When my cohort in kiddie Taylor Swift action, Marji, suggested we rent a limo for the concert that evening, I felt like the biggest dumbass for not remembering Stonegate's limo during my other limo-rental ventures.

Jeff Call, owner of Stonegate Pizza, is up for just about anything, and quite possibly one of the nicest, most carefree restaurant owners I've ever encountered.  Besides, he has a smile that's not bad to look at. (And hello, ladies, he's single.)

Call gave us a phenomenal rental rate that included picking us all up at my house, taking us to Stonegate Pizza for dinner, dropping us off at the Tacoma Dome, picking us up after the show and bringing us back to my house.  And get this: it was WAY nicer and cheaper than any of those damn hoopty limos I've rented in the past.

The best part was waving at all the suckers waiting in line to pay for parking at the Tacoma Dome as we passed them up in our limousine.
