So you're sitting around staring at your calendar and wondering how many different Halloween events you can squeeze in before the ghoulish day comes and goes. The South Sound offers many different kinds of events from trick-or-treating, haunted houses, to scary movies. But for those who are looking to perhaps put on a Halloween costume and bust a move, there are also Halloween parties to attend. Many of the parties will host costume parties with prizes for the best costume, and some will also have other prizes to be won. So brush up on your favorite "Thriller" dance moves and check out the Top 5 Halloween parties.

Halloween Weekend Party and Costume Contest at Emblem Nightclub
This Halloween party features not one but two nights of Halloween dancing and costume contests. Saturday night's contests include Best Over All and Best Group/Couple Costume contests. Each category's winners will receive a $500 cash prize. Registration begins at 9 p.m. and must be registered by 11:30 p.m. Contestants will be judged by crowd participation. Point Defiance Tap and Grill's Halloween Party and Costume Contest
Come on down and enjoy the 2nd annual Halloween party. The entry fee will earn you a spot in the costume contest. Prizes will be awarded to Best Individual and Best Group costumes. There will be entertainment and custom grab bags for guests. The Point Defiance Tap and Grill is already well known for their delicious and locally sourced food and beverages. Halloween Bash at the Emerald Queen Casino
This is the party where you come dressed to impress with your very best Halloween costume. The Halloween Bash in the I-5 Tacoma Showroom has conjured up some amazing payouts for three lucky winners and their Most Frightful Costume. First place winner will walk away with $2,500; second place, $1,500; and third place will receive $1,000. Star 101.5's Curt Kruse and his DJ talents will be on hand to transform the bash into a dance party. Halloween Ball with DJ Fir$t Lady at Brotherhood Lounge
This is the party that you not only come to dance the night away but you'll also be helping out a great cause. Half of the funds collected at the door will go directly to help benefit the Interfaith Works Emergency Shelter. Consider yourself cordially invited to this Halloween Ball and come wearing your finest costume. Halloween Party & Costume Ball featuring Sir Mix-A-Lot at the Temple Theater
This Halloween bash will feature Grammy Award-winning rapper Sir Mix-A-Lot as well as Power Laces, Pink Beads, and The Staxx Brothers. Don't take off after the performance.
