You live for this time of year, where you can dress up as bacon (or sexy bacon?) and wander the streets incognito, becoming your extroverted alter ego for just one night. And as long as you're abandoning all inhibitions, you might as well have a good time and maybe - bonus - win something?  First things first, abandon the cheesy store-bought bacon costume, come up with something awesome, and then peruse this list to see what event fits your personality best!

The Mix
Maybe you're kind of indecisive and you're not sure which night you want to celebrate or exactly what you want to do - sing? Dance? - Check out The Mix Friday, Oct. 30 in your best costume (and don't forget your voice!) Friday will be all about costumes and karaoke, with prizes for being best at either one of these things, with possible bonus points for coming dressed as the artist you'll be singing.  Come back to this haunted hotel-themed gathering spot Saturday night, too - no costume contest means you can change into that bacon costume and dance off all the bacon grease with special guest DJ Essbee.  635 St. Helens Ave., Tacoma, 253.383.4327

Narrows Brewing
Because good beer makes every event better and you don't want to be anywhere near your house when the little ghouls and goblins come ringing the doorbell, you can give the Narrows Brewing Halloween Party a visit and enjoy some Halloween-inspired games as well as a costume contest (yay! Prizes!!) This event will happen Halloween night, Oct. 31, and runs 5-11 p.m.  9007 S. 19th St., Tacoma, 253.327.1400

The Swiss Restaurant and Pub
So you want beer, pub grub, the Kryboys playing all the hits, and you want a chance to win prizes because your costume is just that awesome?  Check out the 22nd Annual Halloween Bash and Costume Contest at The Swiss Saturday from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. There's an $8 cover charge for men, $5 for women, but you can try to win entry for four by posting yourself in a costume at past bashes on the Facebook page for the event.  1904 S. Jefferson, 253.572.2821

The Town
Continuing in the tradition of Fly and Flashy Fridays (#flyandflashyfridays), this Halloween costume party and model expo has "sexy people, hot music and bomb drink specials."  Be present in that fabulous costume (not the bacon one, for sure) and try to win the healthy $500 cash prize. The event goes from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.; the cover charge of $10 is waived for women before 10:45 p.m. 6409 6th Ave., 253.792.9967

Little Creek Casino
So you're not in the bacon suit and you're convinced your costume is the best. Thing. Ever.  You want to win big; you'd like to make a road trip out of the event (and hey, why not play some cards while you're at it?) So where do you go?  Hit up the Little Creek Casino costume party Saturday from 8 p.m. to midnight.  A $25 cover charge gets you a chance to win $5,000 for best costume or $500 if you win in one of their categories.  What are those categories, you ask? Here goes: sexiest, scariest, naughtiest, prettiest, manliest, leather and lace, funniest and most creative.  The best couple costume would win you both $500. Food and drink specials all night mean you'll go neither hungry nor thirsty.  91 West State Route 108, Shelton, 800.667.7711

Masa
Known for throwing an amazing Dia de los Muertos shindig (that wall mural, though!) Masa is kind of also the place you probably need to go to get your groove on with dance floors upstairs and downstairs.  And it just so happens to be the place on Saturday from 10 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. where you might win cash prizes for best male costume, best female costume, and best couples costume while you're shaking your bacon (but remember, we covered that bacon costume thing - it should probably stay home if you want to win.) 2811 6th Ave., 253.254.0560
