VOTE NOW: 2014 Best of Olympia Readers' Poll

Hitting the South Sound streets Feb. 27, 2014

By Volcano Staff on January 3, 2014

Home of Calvin Johnson and grunge rock, historic record labels and KAOS FM, The Evergreen State College, and the best crappy beer you can get, Olympia is the perfect place to fill the musical void in your life. With a constant forecast of rain, an abundance of hairy armpits and the freshest green, creative minds flourish in this little town. Somehow this unique combination produces one of the best underground music scenes you can find. On Feb. 27, 2014 the Weekly Volcano's Best of Olympia 2014 will certainly include Oly's music scene - not only revealing the best bands, clubs, labels and such, but also in the issue's overall design. We're going to rock it like it's 1982!

Olympia is also much more than just music. The Weekly Volcano spent the past 12 months dining, drinking, sneaking around the Capitol Campus, and shopping our way across Thurston County - yes Lacey, Tumwater and outlining towns are part of the special issue, too. And now that we're finished, we're ready to connect you with the places and people that stand as the absolute Best of Olympia.

Of course, the Volcano's Best of Olympia Readers' Poll will be the magic potion that drives the Best of Olympia 2014 special edition. Think you know the best restaurant, politician, hero or thrift store? Want to help spread the word about the best bike shop, hair salon or bar in Thurston County? Cast your vote below. The results of our survey will be published in the Weekly Volcano Best of Olympia issue Feb. 27, 2014.
