Holiday magic at region's largest outdoor ice rink

City of Bellevue brings magic to life

By James Williams on December 11, 2015

With the magic and wonder of the holiday season now fully upon us, the city of Bellevue sends a warm, open invitation to all to celebrate the "Magic Season" with them. Home to western Washington's largest outdoor ice arena, the city strives to bring joy and wonder to children from 1 to 99 years old this season. No matter a skater's ability, this magnificent winter structure offers a plethora of joy, magic and memories.

For newcomers to the ice, the arena offers plenty of help to ensure the visit is as enjoyable as possible. Several options are available for skaters to receive private lessons for a small fee, including an Ice Theatre of Bellevue Performance Class; for others, any paid admission on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays also gives them access to free group lessons. The ice arena even takes into consideration those who are too young to strap on skates. Every Thursday, a stroller skate is available for parents who want their younger children to experience the one-of-a-kind sensation that gliding across the ice offers.

From skate lessons to private parties and even free skate Mondays, the ice arena wants everyone to make the most of the magic this year. General admission is $12 (which includes a $3 skate rental fee), and there are several discounts available for military, students and children under the age of 8.

This fabulous venue provides an opportunity to relax from the stresses of life, holiday shopping and traffic. Sit in the adjacent tent and watch the smiles grow, enjoy concessions that warm you inside, and live the magic that keeps you watching your favorite holiday movies. Just like in previous years, the Magic Season Ice Arena will be covered, so no matter the weather, attendees will be granted access to the perfect memory-making activity of winter. Skating is a wonderful activity to build memories with family and friends as it permits socializing, trust and learning together. As the region's largest outdoor arena, the venue allows skaters to skate the way it should be: in the open crisp winter air.

Located in beautiful Bellevue Downtown Park, the festive venue offers one-of-a-kind views of the park's waterfall, increasing the magic and serenity. While skating your cares away and bringing you closer to your loved ones, the Magic Season Ice Arena will warm your soul in spite of Jack Frost's attempts to chill you.

This year, do not let your family and friends miss out on the perfect chance to grow closer and build long-lasting memories. The ice arena will remain open on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's. Organizers hope that you will allow the Magic Season Ice Arena to bring the magic and happiness to your holiday season, and live life the way it was meant to be - with a smile on your face and warmth in your heart.
