Clover Park Technical College's Aerospace Composite Technician certificate is a two quarter program designed to prepare students to fabricate, assemble and repair composite materials on aircraft.

These skills are often just a continuation of what many Servicemembers have already done during their military careers, and the condensed length of the program lends itself to an easy transition into the civilian workplace.

"We have found that veterans are uniquely suited for this quick, intense type of learning environment and are able to learn and apply the knowledge in a multitude of settings," said John Mensonides, ACT instructor.

Graduates of the program are equipped with the skills required for entry-level positions as composite technicians. Classes are held from 4 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. at the South Hill Campus in Puyallup (17214 110th Avenue East).

The winter and summer sessions of the ACT program are currently open to veterans only, but the fall and spring sessions will be open to the general student population.

Though class spots are limited and there is currently a waiting list, summer registration will begin in late May.

Veterans who would like more information should contact Clover Park Technical College's Veteran's Office at (253) 589-5581.
