Services and programs across Joint Base Lewis-McChord Updates from 8/11 Joint Base Lewis-McChord Town Hall. 

Washington State allows children to register for school  without being in the state as long as they know what their address will be upon arrival. Once a child arrives at JBLM proof of residency must be shown after 14 days of arrival.

School districts will coordinate all resources available to students for online learning. Planning is still in process, but will be outlined in the coming weeks. Individual teachers will also be assigned to students in the coming weeks. All schools on installations are operated by individual school districts. 

School Districts will work with individual families on ensuring they have access to wifi and any necessary electronic devices. 

IEP and 504 Plans are still in place and school districts will contact parents directly to ensure needs are met.

CYS Leaders will be able to assist students with technology and logging on, but are not teachers who can assist with curriculum

A Town Hall is set for 8/19 to answer additional questions specifically on school reopenings.

CYS to send out questionnaire in regards to possibilities for Covid-19 sports

Madigan pharmacy has reduced hours due to personnel impacted by covid-19 contracted outside of the pharmacy. Regular hours will resume next week, once staff is back 

Madigan is offering Covid-19 antibody tests. Antibody testing shouldn't be used as diagnostic testing. Tests won't offer an answer if an individual is immune. Talk with individual prime care.

Shortage of blood due to Covid-19, desperately need donors if healthy and capable of donating. 253- 968-1850 to make an appointment at the donor center. 

JBLM offers drive-thru Covid-19 testing, located across Madigan ER entrance. If you feel you have symptoms you can visit this location to determine if you need a test, if deemed yes, you will be given a test there.

Family Medicine Clinics are open, but initial appointments are primarily handled virtually. If determined virtual won't work, in person appointments will be scheduled.

Employees who have tested positive for Covid-19 are allowed to safely return to work after ten days as long as they have no symptoms or fever. All CDC guidelines are followed for workers.

No PCS policy change right now, updated Covid-19 Overseas leave policy will be implemented on 8/30.

No change to pools. Active Duty service members only. McChord outdoor pool is currently open to everyone.

Gyms are the same status with active duty members only allowed into facilities. 

Unsure on a date for gyms to return to normal operation. 

Children's Museum looking for a soft opening either November or December. Play structures being constructed now.  First children's museum in the DOD and hoping for a large gala grand opening in April (Month of the Military Child) 2021

Replacement for Go Transit coming 10/1. Changing to a government funded program. All schedules and updates will be published in the coming weeks. 

Retirees are allowed to use the barber shop 

When PCS'ing JBLM quarantine is only necessary if you travelled from overseas.

SAC virtual job fair on 8/18 at 7-11am, information can be found  jblm/mwr on how to submit an application. Looking for childcare providers.

Also looking for Family Child Care Providers, next orientation is Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 2013B N. 3rd St., room 233 from 6-8 p.m. There's no need to sign-up in advance.

Bulk Center Recycle Center reopen date is still being worked through. In the meantime their are four centers close to base that are open.

Cabins on Lewis North are available for rent.
