REBOOT Recovery

Lacey class celebrates graduation

One of the biggest battles that many of our military service members and veterans face when returning home is combat trauma. Recovering from trauma is extremely difficult to recover from on your own. Attempting to self-medicate to fix these issues can affect their quality of life, relationships, abuse of medications, and may even result in suicide. REBOOT Combat Recovery is doing their part to help those needing help to overcome trauma.

Once enrolled into the program, participants go through a 12-week program addressing their issues and finding meaningful solutions to their problems, as well as strengthen their own spiritual faith. Working through this course in a group setting not only offers immediate support but creates a growing community of people who also understand what others are going through. This program is saving lives, marriages and families.

Saturday, Dec. 8, a group from the Lacey location celebrated graduation of the program. The graduation was held at the Joint Base Lewis-McChord Main Chapel. The ceremony began with words of encouragement from Michael Johnson, REBOOT Combat Recovery Ambassador. Many others shared their stories of success with the room. Those graduating the program were called to the front to receive certificates of completion and a quilt. The ceremony ended with a small reception with refreshments.

This is not the end of their story, however. Recovery may be a short process for some, but for many they will need to continue long term. But after completing the program, they now have the tools to help others in similar situations. If you need assistance, REBOOT Recovery is available across the United States, with six locations in Washington state.
