Every year since January 2009, Disney has offered an Armed Forces Salute Rate to eligible servicemembers including active and retired members of the U.S. military, 100-percent permanently disabled veterans, and spouses of eligible members. The new 2019 rates have just been announced for Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, and Disneyland in Anaheim, California. The ticket options vary by location and type of ticket.

Beginning in January 2020, Walt Disney World will offer the four-day Park Hopper Ticket for $265 per person. This is more than a 50 percent savings against the regular priced four-day Park Hopper Ticket. The park hopper ticket allows each visitor to enter multiple parks within a single day. If you choose to upgrade to the four- or five-day Park Hopper Plus tickets you are able to also visit non-park venues such as waterparks, golf courses, and sports complex, in addition to the Disney Theme Parks. Disneyland is also discounting their regular price of $365 for a four-day Park Hopper Ticket, down to $184 per person.

Though the new 2020 rates don't kick in until January, you can still purchase tickets at the 2019 rate through the end of December.

Discounts can also be found at Shades of Green, a military-owned and operated resort within Walt Disney World. This resort offers accommodations to military members and their families, ranging from standard rooms to suites that sleep up to 10. Shades of Green even offers lodging and food packages to help your family save even more. There are blackout dates and other rules associated with these rates, so be sure to plan your trip accordingly.
