The organization is looking for volunteers of every age to assist with the decoration, setup, and monitoring of the competitions.

Those interested can register for individual time slots and events at 2019springgames.my-trs.com. Volunteers 15 and younger must have a parent or guardian with them.

A valid photo identification for those 16 and older is required to enter the base. The registration deadline is May 16.

Volunteer shifts available:

  • Setup and decoration, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., May 31
  • Games (morning shift), 7:20 a.m. to 12 p.m., June 1
  • Games (afternoon shift), 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., June 2

Special Olympics Washington provides sports programs throughout the year for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The spring games draw over 1,800 athletes each year who compete in cycling, powerlifting, soccer and swimming.
