Centennial events

Marking 7th ID's 100 years of service

To mark its 100 years of service to the nation, the 7th Infantry Division's Centennial Week will be marked by the following events:

Dec. 3  
Maj. Gen. Willard Burleson, division commander, will host the Commander's Holiday Reception for command teams, primary division staff, and community partners at specified times at his residence on JBLM.

Dec. 6  
Division's Birthday Commemoration hosted by Maj. Gen. (R) John Hemphill at McNamara's Pub, 1595 Wilmington Dr., DuPont, 4-6 p.m., tickets $5.

Dec. 13-14  
Commander's Symposium conducted by Maj. Gen. Burleson with Brigade and Battalion Teams at the American Lake Conference Center.  Army initiatives, command readiness guidance, communications strategy issues will be discussed.  There will also be a Living History Social at the Lewis Army Museum.

Dec. 15
7th ID Open House at Harrison Hall from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.  There will be a cake-cutting ceremony, a time capsule burial and a dedication of the Manchu Soldier in front of the division's headquarters.

Dec. 15  
Formal Centennial Dinner will be held from 5:30-9 p.m. at the American Lake Conference Center.
