Every Day is Veterans Day

Calendar honors servicemembers and veterans

By Marguerite Cleveland on March 17, 2017

Marine Corps veteran and Purple Heart recipient Justin Constantine designed and created a desktop calendar to honor servicemembers and veterans.

"There's no desktop calendar specifically honoring veterans and servicemembers," he said.  "This is a great way to show our greater military community how much we appreciate their service and sacrifice."

The Every Day is Veterans Day calendar has one page for each day of the year.  It features inspirational quotes from members of the military as well as military spouses and caregivers.

"This calendar serves as a token of gratitude to our greater military community to show we care.  Gifting this to a wounded warrior or a military member overseas is a great way to honor them and give back a little something for all they've given to us," Constantine said.

The calendar includes wisdom from both famous voices and everyday heroes while giving examples of service and sacrifice. The featured veterans are united by their love of our country.

No stranger to adversity, Constantine was shot in the head by a sniper while on a routine patrol during a 2006 deployment to Iraq.  Facing imminent death, he beat the odds and had a successful recovery.  He continued to serve in the Marine Corps Reserves and retired as a lieutenant colonel.  He understands the challenges facing today's veterans and has served as a tireless advocate.  In 2014, he received the prestigious Lincoln Award for achievement and excellence in support of our nation's veterans and military families.

Constantine is currently a leadership consultant and inspirational speaker. He co-founded the Veteran Success Resource Group, a nonprofit organization that provides personalized networking opportunities for veterans. In his role at The Military Talent Group, he assists corporations in all aspects of their veteran hiring initiatives.

It is Constantine's hope that calendars are purchased and sent directly to wounded warriors at military hospitals across the nation and to deployed troops overseas. Contributors to the calendar include veterans of various ranks, backgrounds and services, as well as several Medal of Honor recipients, with service during peacetime and conflicts in Vietnam, Somalia, Bosnia, Panama, the Persian Gulf, Iraq and Afghanistan. Each page features a photograph of a national monument or memorial, a motivational quote from a veteran and details about his or her service.

Proceeds from sales of the calendar will assist veterans in two ways.  First, it supports a service-connected, disabled, and veteran-owned business and is made solely in the United States.  Second, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to three military nonprofit organizations - the Semper Fi Fund, the Medal of Honor Foundation and the PenFed Foundation.

The calendar cost is $18.99 and includes shipping and handling.  To purchase the calendar and have it sent directly to a wounded warrior or member of the military deployed overseas, visit: myveterancalendar.com/calendars-for-our-troops.
