PERMANENT LIPSTICK: Mr. Gorgeous

South Sound adventures at clubs, restaurants and my favorite hangouts

There are times when I pick up the Weekly Volcano to jog my memory on what I did the prior week.  As I sit here trying to recall what I did only yesterday (Monday), I have the distinct feeling that this Thursday will be one of those times.

Wednesday, Oct. 6

My new favorite Wednesday pre-funk is called JAZZBONES WEDNESDAY NIGHT LOCAL SHOW.  I caught  performer JEREMY SILAS spewing poetry pieces and singing while fellow Rampart artist ALICIA MARROQUIN documented it on film.  I hope they don't cut my performance - a hand-shadow piece I did behind Silas.  JOE ROSATI and MIKE WINFREY followed with acoustic melodies. I nearly choked on my vodka when Rosati dropped his guitar pick in his beer. The new black is HOLLYWOOD and his girlfriend, EBONY BLUE, as both looked classy in black.  At 10 p.m., I made it an early night, opting for a bottle of red vino in bed paired with brie cheese, crackers and a few taped episodes of "Nip/Tuck."  Man, that Christian is hot!

Friday, Oct. 7

MR. GORGEOUS just arrived back from Iraq. I scooped him up from the airport knowing it would be the longest weekend ever.  You see, he likes to tear it up, and after being in the war he described as a "HOT, HELLISH PRISON" for more than a year, Mr. Gorgeous was itching to do some serious damage on workingman T-Town. After dragging ERICK OUT OF BED AT 3 P.M., we hit ALFRED'S CAFÉ & BUBBLE ROOM'S happy hour - $5 pizzas, beer and more beer. In an attempt to get some work done, I dropped the guys off before I had more alcohol in my veins than blood.  Four sobering hours later, I grabbed 'em back up for PRE-FUNK DRINKS AT PANAMONICA'S, then on to HELL'S KITCHEN for MONO IN VCF.  Those guys are so hot right now. Their sound is fabulous.  Down the AVE for HB SURROUND SOUND at FENDERS ROCK CLUB. At 2 a.m. I begged off (but not without a LITTLE TONGUE ACTION from Mr. Gorgeous).

Saturday, Oct. 9

A day of incomplete sentences.

Hangover helper at WOW's ETC. with Mr. Gorgeous. Lovely drive through University Place. Long hot shower. Drank gallons of water.

Dinner with BONILLA at Proctor District's POUR AT FOUR. Sensational food and wine.  EMERALD QUEEN CASINO with THE HUNTERS. Bye-bye $100. Pool game at MECONI'S PUB. Bye-bye pool skills.

Sunday, Oct. 10

STORM LARGE AND THE BALLS were scheduled, and THE KID was dying to see the blond Amazon seductress (I'd shown him her pics and videos online).  ARGH, FOILED!  Storm got sick pain in Spain in the rain and cancelled the show. KNUCKLEHEAD started their weekly Sunday gig two hours early. Sorry guys, you're just not Storm. I ran The Kid home at 9:30 p.m. and zipped back to catch up with Mr. Gorgeous and GOAT BOY for FENDERS' KARAOKE.  Goat Boy grabbed JAMAINE and me as backup singers for Gloria Gainer's "I WILL SURIVIE." First off, Jamaine didn't know the song (how is that possible?). Drowning out Goat Boy, I took the mic and became the star of my very own (off-key) show.  Fenders co-owners KEVIN AND LEE were making sure everyone had a blast. Lee revved up his motorcycle and SPUN CIRCLES ON THE DANCE FLOOR. Kevin (who was spotted on a date with SWEAT PEA at Panamonica's on Saturday night) sang Brittney Spears' "HIT ME ONE MORE TIME." RAINBOW helped him out with the chorus.  Around 80 percent of the Fenders crowd was at ERICK AND ADAM'S AFTER PARTY till 5 a.m. It was there that I finally got quality time with my girl STEPH DAWG jumping on the couch laughing our booties off.
