JOINT BASE LEWIS-McCHORD, Wash. - The 3rd Ordnance Battalion (EOD), with the support of the 555th Engineer Brigade, 4th Stryker Brigade, and 110th Chemical Battalion (Technical Escort) will host the 20th Support Command (*CBRNE) Team Leader Training Academy (TLTA) in order to provide prospective EOD Team Leaders with realistic training scenarios.
The TLTA will use intense, real-world training scenarios to help identify and select potential team leader candidates during a 10-day training exercise on JBLM beginning this week.
About 24 prospective team leader candidates, typically rank E-5 to E-6, and 48 team members, rank E-4 and below, from throughout the EOD community will take part in this innovative training exercise designed to test each candidate's skills and knowledge of their profession. Training scenarios will include Vehicle Born Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) and IED render safe, ordnance disposal, post blast analysis, and robot operations to name a few.
