The National University Golf Academy will host a free golf seminar at the Oakbrook Golf and Country Club on June 23 from 3 to 6 pm.

"We will be doing a clinic to discuss how to improve the participants' golf game," Dr. Mac Powell, the dean of the academy wrote in an email.

"Following the discussion will be a period of individual instruction for any attendees interested in one-on-one assistance."

Located in California, the accredited academy is a non-profit educational institution that is part of the National University System.

The academy offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in sport psychology and professional golf management.

Although, the clinic at Oakbrook is designed for military personnel, it is also open to anyone who would like to attend Powell said.

Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss some of the technical and personal lessons learned by Powell and fellow golf professional Mike Powell.

"Mike Powell will talk about game improvement and his many years on the PGA tour, and I will talk about how to use performance psychology principles both on and off the course," Powell concluded.
