Backpack into Ingall's Creek valley
May 28-29: $75 Venture deep into a valley in the Central Cascades, following Ingall's Creek . Difficulty: moderate. Distance: 11 miles. Elevation gain: 1,450 feet Meet at the Northwest Adventure Center at Lewis North at 8:30 a.m. or McChord Field's Adventures Unlimited at 8:45 a.m. Pretrip meeting is required to discuss logistics and trip details at Northwest Adventure Center on May 19 at 5 p.m.
Explore Ape Caves at Mount St. Helens
May 28: $35 Travel to Mount St. Helens to explore the largest continuous lava tube in the Western Hemisphere. Hike deep into the underside of a 2,000-year-old lava flow to scramble and climb over and under volcanic formations. In this subterranean environment, the average year-round temperature remains a constant 45 degrees, so dress warm. Difficulty: easy. Distance: 3 miles. Elevation gain: 250 feet Meet at McChord Field's Adventures Unlimited at 7:45 a.m. or the Northwest Adventure Center at Lewis North at 8 a.m. Minimum age: 12.
Incredible views after strenuous hike
May 29: $35 This strenuous climb passes through a second-growth forest and alpine meadows to end at an old fire outlook that offers incredible views of the surrounding peaks. Trip fee includes gear and guided hike. Minimum age 12.

Introduction to sea kayaking
May 29: $40 Interested in kayaking but need the basic skills or refresh rusty ones? Join the Northwest Adventure Center for a safe and fun start with a clinic designed to teach basic skills needed for kayaking. Equipment and instruction will be provided. Meet at McChord Field's Adventures Unlimitmed at 9:45 a.m. or the Northwest Adventure Center at Lewis North at 10 a.m.
Mount St. Helens hiking trip
June 4: $45 Join us as we head down to Mount St. Helens for an exciting day of hiking down to Spirit Lake which sits at the bottom of the volcano. The trail we will be taking is called Harmony Falls. The trees lie parallel to each other like matches in a matchbook and the shoreline is still covered in a gritty ash from the 1980's explosion. Difficulty: Easy. Distance: 2 miles. Elevation Gain: 700ft. Meet at the Joint Base Lewis-McChord North, Northwest Adventure Center at 9:30 a.m. or McChord Field, Adventures Unlimited at 9:15 a.m. Preregistration required.
Bottom fish for cod and rockfish
June 4: $115 Are you ready to get out on the open water and start hauling in fish? Join us on a chartered boat trip out of Westport on the Ranger. Rockfish are always plentiful and lingcod are real fighters! Dress in layers and bring raingear, lunch and snacks. Transportation and fishing gear are provided. Reasonable accommodations may be made for persons with special needs. Meet at the Northwest Adventure Center at 4 a.m. or McChord Field's Adventures Unlimited at 3:45 a.m. Preregistration Required.

Mountain bike on Skookum Flats
June 11: $40 Looking for a great technical ride without much climbing? Even without much elevation gain, there are plenty of rocks and roots to build your skill. Pack a lunch, and bring plenty of water. We provide the full suspension mountain bike, helmet, gloves, transportation, instruction, and guide. You can bring your own gear, but will like ours better. Single-track riding experience required. Difficulty: Difficult. Time: 3 hours. Distance: 10 miles. Minimum age: 18 yrs. Meet at the NAC at 8 a.m. or McChord Field, Adventures Unlimited at 7:45 a.m. Preregistration required.

June 11: $40 Don't miss this South Sound classic. Paddle in Carr Inlet on the sea kayak Cutts Island trip. Take a dip and explore the island while breaking for lunch. Walking tour of the best of Seattle
June 12: $55 Join us for an insider's view of the City of Seattle. We will show you the best parts of the University of Washington, Ballard, Fremont, Queen Anne, City Center, Pike Place, and Safeco Field. While exploring the city, we will make sure we stop off to taste and see the spots of Seattle that most pass by. This includes transportation and a guided tour.
