Continuing a tradition begun in 1922, the Military Order of World Wars will host the annual Massing of the Colors on May 21 (Armed Forces Day) at 3 pm at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) Main's Memorial Stadium.
"This is the first time the event will be held outdoors," Marion Ball, assistant coordinator, said in a telephone interview.
The colorful ceremony will bring together approximately 100 organizations to honor patriots and organizations that have served, are serving and will serve the country.
The ceremony is free to the public.
Vehicles with Department of Defense stickers can enter JBLM Main at any gate. Vehicles without stickers should enter the post through the DuPont Gate at I-5 exit 119.
Parking is available inside the gates; shuttle buses will run every 10 minutes to the stadium.
In case of inclement weather, the event will be held in Carey Theater.
