Tonight's holiday concert (Dec. 8, 2012) at Carey Theater is going to rock.

"This will be a wonderful event for everyone," SFC Thomas Babbit said as he sat behind his drum set.

"All sorts of music will be play, and it will be fun."

The Soldiers Rockin' Holiday Traditions concert will be held this evening at the theater at 7 pm.  Babbit and SFC Mark Islas coordinated the event.

"We're veterans at this," Babbit, for whom this is his 23rd Christmas concert, added.

Comprised of over 60 members, the band will perform a variety of songs ranging from the traditional to jazz and rock.

For Spc. John Kilik, the concert is the culmination of a great deal of work on the part of the band.

"This is a great band and a great group of people, he said as he worked on his keyboard.  "We've worked hard to prepare."

What's more, on December 13 at 3:30 pm at the Family Resource Center, approximately 20 members of the band will perform a Special Needs Christmas concert.

"I wanted to do this," Babbit said.  "It allows Special Needs individuals to touch the instruments and hear some music.  This is very important, and we look forward to this."

The band's holiday performance schedule is as follows:

December 9:  Brass Ensemble Madigan Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony, MAMC, 2:30 pm

December 10:  Tuff Boxx, Madigan Holiday Concert, MWR Fest Tent/Post Bowling Alley, 6:30 pm

December 13:  Brass Ensemble, Deployed Families Night, 9120 Transmission Line Road, 5:30 pm

December 16:  Brass Ensemble, 2011 Holiday Event, Consolidated Club, 5:30 pm
