Singles clubs in the South Sound

YOU: As an elite young, hot single member of society, you know your options are limitless. The world is your oyster. Large numbers of the opposite sex are naturally drawn to you and fawn over you constantly. Your self-confidence and charisma act as a magnet of super natural tractor beam proportions. A smile and wink from you has the power to make pulses race, conversations stop mid-sentence and inhibitions up and disappear.

THE OPPOSITE SEX: Putty in your hand.

Now that I have your attention, let's reel it in and talk in terms of reality.

A good majority of people have not reached that all-around state of "awesome" just described. Finding other singles can be tricky when you're new to the area and even when you're not. Being single, you want to have your time occupied, to be entertained, and to be somewhere cool doing something fun. There are singles clubs and activity clubs designed to put a person in direct proximity to other people that have shared interests, common beliefs, backgrounds and sometimes even future goals. Meet-Up groups are a great way to get connected.

Definitely the largest of the singles activities clubs in the region, Events And Adventures' philosophy is to allow people to have fun together comfortably and not in an awkward dating service set-up environment. Jennifer Murphy, a member, says there are tons of fun outings in the area. Events and Adventures group activities like hiking, camping and horseback riding, live music, theater and comedy shows, jazz brunch, wine tastings and cruises are held in Seattle and Tacoma, and all over the Northwest, including Canada and even internationally. http://www.eventsandadventures.com/calendarSeattle.html

The Trailside Outdoors Group based in Pierce County is a free group for people that want to get out in nature and hike around the Pacific Northwest. UPS grad student Hannah Baldwin recently joined the Trailsiders and states in her member profile, "Since I don't know a lot of people in the area I am looking for a safe and fun way to get out of doors."

Open to anyone, Trailsiders currently does not have any member fees or joining dues, but asks for contributions for expenses. Day hikes, overnight camping and retreats, cycling adventures, social barbecues and picnics are also held.

Noodlists may sound like the tongue-in-cheek name for a nudist club, but au contraire. An Olympia-Lacey-Tumwater area social club for those interested in conversation, discussions, dining out, and outdoorsy activities, the group also has a popular Sunday afternoon get-together for board games at Olympic Cards and Comics in Lacey and Zumba at the Olympic Ballroom above the Urban Onion. Social group Tacoma T-Town 20s and 30s has the Tacoma, University Place, Lakewood, Puyallup, and Federal Way areas covered. The 193 members enjoy activities like concerts, roller derby bouts, laser tag, sporting events, pub crawls, winter sports, and more.
Not necessarily for singles, these two area groups are open to anyone in their 20's and 30's looking to make friends. After all, every great relationship started as a friendship.
