For those wanting to give a little something back and express their gratitude for a stellar Air Expo 2010 lineup, the Air Force Association is hosting a four-person golf scramble at 1 p.m. July 9 at Whispering Firs Golf Course on McChord Field.

All of the proceeds from the tournament go toward supporting Air Expo 2010, which is free to the public.

"It's just a great chance to come together, have a good time and support the expo," said tournament organizer Zach Dorman.

The tournament is open to everyone, and there are 144 playing slots available.

The cost is $45 for ranks E-5 and below and $55 for E-6 and above, as well as civilians.

The entry fee includes greens and cart fees, range balls and lunch. Prizes will also be handed out for best and worse overall team score, closest to the pin, longest drive and longest putt.

A Pebble Beach golf vacation will also be awarded for a hole in one, as well as $10,000 for sinking a 50-foot putt.

For more information, or to request a sign-up sheet, call Dorman or Adam Smith at (253) 982-1091 or e-mail adam.smith2@mcchord.af.mil or zachary.dorman@mcchord.af.mil. The deadline to enter the event is July 7.
