The Ford Motor Company Fund and Lakewood Ford are teaming up with Hope Now International and mobile health provider HealthFair to offer free breast cancer detection screenings Jan. 4 at Walgreens, 8224 Steilacoom Blvd., S.W., Lakewood.

"Not everyone has medical coverage, so it's a great opportunity to receive a free screening," said Henry Krebs, general manager at Lakewood Ford at 11503 Pacific Highway.

Through the Ford Women's Health Initiative Mobile Breast Imaging Tour, women will receive breast cancer screenings using the latest 3D ultrasound technology, which is safer than radiation, offers accurate diagnostics regardless of breast density, is painless, and takes less than 30 minutes.

Anyone is eligible and there are no special qualifications or criteria to meet - not even insurance coverage. However, appointments are required and space is limited, so interested parties should visit www.fordwomenshealth.com or call (855) 380-8378 to schedule an appointment.
