Two popular Seattle-based bands are making the trip to Ellensburg, about an hour from Yakima Training Center in Central Washington, for a benefit concert for Wounded Warrior Project. The show, The Price of Freedom: A Concert for Wounded Warriors, is being put on by the Civil Engagement Center at Central Washington University. The two bands are Campfire OK and Curtains for You.

CWU student Connie Morgan is at the helm of the concert and is excited to not only hear the bands play, but raise money for a good cause.

"I love this organization because I come from a military family. Fortunately I have never had a member of my family need any of the WWP services but I feel for the Soldiers who do need help getting their lives back together after war," Morgan said. "This is me trying to do my part to support our brave troops and their families."

City Arts Magazine named both bands to their Top 10 Seattle Bands last year.

Campfire OK's song "Strange Like We Are" was recently featured on NPR. Their indie rock music has been described as "a smorgasbord of tasty sounds, slowly-simmered songs, and crackling good production" by Three Imaginary Girls, a Seattle music blog. Their many sounds include guitars, banjos and horns on their debut album also named Strange Like We Are.

Curtains for You describes themselves as "angry teenage dance pop," while music reviewers go for the genre "retro-pop." Their uptempo songs will keep concert goers tapping their toes throughout the night.

All of the concert proceeds will go to Wounded Warrior Project. The national organization helps raise awareness about wounded veterans and assists them reach personal achievements through various programs. Upcoming events closer to Joint Base Lewis-McChord include a Ruck in Remembrance May 28 in Oak Harbor.

Tickets for The Price for Freedom Concert are $10 and available at the door at Raw Space Café in Ellensburg. For more information visit: https://www.takeactioncwu.com/event/117801.
