Four sets of designs will battle it out in a bid to be the Army's new camouflage pattern - and none of them bears any resemblance to the bemoaned UCP worn today.
Uniforms will include a woodland variant, a desert variant and a transitional variant that covers everything in between.
After field trials this summer, officials plan to submit recommendations for the new camouflage in October. If all goes as planned, production could begin in early 2013.
Four industry competitors submitted a family of three or four camouflage patterns for consideration.
