New JBLM Tax Center

"The newly opened Joint Base Lewis-McChord Tax Center stands ready to provide free tax preparation for service members, their families and retirees," according to an Internal Revenue Service press release.

To use the service, personnel should bring their valid military ID, social security cards for themselves, spouse and dependents, birth dates, wage and earning statement(s), interest and dividend statement(s), a copy of last year's federal and state tax returns (if available), direct deposit information (checkbook routing and account numbers), total amount paid for day care and the day care provider's identification number, and any other relevant information about income and expenses.

The center will prepare and e-file basic tax returns for active duty service members (including activated Reserve and National Guard members), ID card holding family members of active duty service members and military retirees.

The JBLM Tax Center is located in Building T6069 at JBLM Lewis Main and in Building 100 at JBLM McChord Field.  The center is open Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

i need help to understand that if my wife(separated) does not want any money from me other than what i have been paying for her, and she wont give me her information, and also she will be filling for her own w-2 and claiming my son, but i have been paying 700 a month why does the turbo tax keep asking for her info and after its completion it tells me i owe 922.00? i need advise or just plain help to resolve this issue. please and thank you

Incredibly helpful and professional. What a great service to offer to a population whose situations are often difficult to manage, especially during tax time! I most definitely recommmend.
