Buck Haggard is a tribute to two of the greatest country artists of the 60's and 70's: Buck Owens and Merle Haggard. Both Buck and Merle defined "The Bakersfield" sound which rebelled against the laid back Nashville sound at the time. West coast radio stations blasted their hits
across the airwaves and eventually mid-west and east coast stations followed. After much disdain, these artists were eventually excepted for their popularity by the Nashville "old guard" who had a iron grip on country airplay at the time.
