‘Tis the season for fall festivals! Next weekend marks the annual Applefest and Pumpkin Patch celebration at Lattin’s Country Cider Mill and Farm in Olympia.

The event hosts a variety of entertainment for young and old including an animal train, face painting, petting farm, pony rides and the popular apple slingshot. Live bluegrass music will help keep the party going.

Of course Lattin’s national award winning cider will be on tap, which 80-year-old owner Caroline Lattin says is, “100% fruit juice, not from concentrate, not from China, it’s from right here.”

There will also be lots of good things to eat like pulled pork barbeque, caramel apples and their famous apple fritters, which Lattin tells me they sold over 52, 200 last year.

“That’s a lot of frittering,” she says with a laugh.

Wagon rides to their pumpkin patch will also be available from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The event is free; parking is $3 per vehicle. Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. 9402 Rich Road SE, Olympia, 360.491.7328.
