All Hail the Giant Skate

Email Blog Post Print Blog Post Share on Facebook Share on Reddit Share on StumbleUpon

The giant skate proclaims a grand opening. Rollin' 253 opened earlier this year and is the only roller rink in Tacoma. The rink that was formerly in this location closed down in December 2011. It was old. It was funky. It needed some love.

And it got some.

Rollin' 253 has a new name, new paint, new flooring, new layout, and new management.

If you're like me, the idea of rolling in circles with a bunch of kids who are way better than you are is unappealing. But check this-Rollin' 253 has Adult Nights on Fridays from 11 p.m. until 1 a.m. For just $6, you get admission and skate rental. Really, what better idea could there be to go here after a few drinks, and strap wheels on your drunk feet, and hope for the best.

Roller skating. Find joy in falling on your ass all over again.

Sounds neat. How do you get there? Hours of operation?
