1. A Sumi, Chinese brushstroke and water and ink in group exhibition. The summer dragons are set to converge on Mt. Tachoma! This exhibition explores a variety of styles and presentations among artists, further advancing tradition into contemporary expressions. 11 am - 5 pm, free, B2 Fine Art Gallery, 711 St. Helens Avenue, Tacoma,(253) 238-5065.

2. The museum offers 7,000 square feet of permanent galleries showcasing the rich, unique heritage of the Gig Harbor Peninsula. Exhibits focus on south sound Native Americans, area settlers, water transportation, early industries, commercial fishing, the three Narrows Bridges, and the growth of the Peninsula.Younger visitors can get their hands-on history fix in this fun, interactive gallery featuring a large magnetic mural and other activities aimed at children 10 and under. 10 am -5 pm, $6, 6 and under free, Harbor History Museum, 44121 Harborview Drive, Gig Harbor,(253) 858-6722.

3. It's Wednesday - that means in Olympia you can either find jazz, karaoke, or open mic. Eenie-meenie-miny-mo. How about Open Mic at Hannah's Bar and Grill? Come to perform, or come to listen, Oly has some decent talent. Good bar menu, nice pool table and pull tabs. And of course, beer and booze. 9 pm, no cover, 123 5th Avenue, (360) 357-9890.

5. 2010 could be comfortably dubbed their year as they were also honored by the United States House of Representatives and was presented with a Congressional Proclamation by Congress woman Yvette Clarke for their contributions through music to varying communities. The same year, they were awarded the Simba Award by CPR (Coalition to preserve Reggae Music). Certainly, their successes have given rise to a resurgence of bands on the local scene in Jamaica and they were once again honored with the Jamaica Star’s "People's Choice Award" for "Band of the Year".
