Kitchen Nightmares Casting Call

Chef Gordon Ramsay kicks ass

Email Blog Post Print Blog Post Share on Facebook Share on Reddit Share on StumbleUpon

Kitchen Nightmares is now casting in Seattle. The reality show, in which Chef Gordon Ramsay is invited by the owners to spend a week with a failing restaurant in an attempt to revive the business, is seeking Seattle-area kitchens that think they have what it takes.

Restaurants must have been open at least one year, offer dinner service, not be a franchise or chain, and have at least 35 seats.

And, the business must be failing. Episodes of Kitchen Nightmares show restaurants that have horrible food, dirty kitchens, unhappy patrons and slow business. There is usually some kind of personal conflict with owners and/or employees, too.

So, if you are a restaurant owner who’s got some drama and wants Chef Ramsay to come and whip your ass- and your restaurant- into shape, contact the casting company at 310.313.9100 or www.theconlincompany.com.

Does Dirty Oscars fit the bill? I've been served both rotten and uncooked food there

As the decor (80's moteef) and service where not bad enough the food was disgusting, cold, swimming in fat and tasteless. We left after a few bites and waited for over an hour for the food! Please help them they should be a great place in the city of Fife!

Perhaps this restaurant doesn't fit the bill, as I'm not certain if it is actually "failing". However, my experience at Poppy (which has been nominated as one of Seattle's best restaurants in the Seattle Met in 2009) makes me seriously think they need the strong, gently golden arm of Gordon Ramsay to whip them into shape. I went to Poppy during "Restaurant Week" last year. When I entered, immediately I noticed that the wait staff was a bit stuffy. Then they handed me the menu, which looked extremely convoluted and overly complicated. The menu centers around thalis, which I think could be a great idea, but Poppy has 7 to 10 item thalis that are stuffed to the brim with flavors that overwhelm and don't pair well. As the evening went on, the wait staff became increasingly condescending and uppity. When the food arrived, it was cold, over-cooked and overpowering. When I got received the check, I felt like I suffered a small stroke. Over 80 dollars for that sad concoction of cold, overcooked food? Maybe my experience is not a representation of Poppy as a whole, but I really think it needs some work. Gordon Ramsay, please turn this pretentious mess into a place worth 80 dollars for dinner. I think it does have potential.
