Sultry Summer Night Soiree

Email Blog Post Print Blog Post Share on Facebook Share on Reddit Share on StumbleUpon

The words "sultry summer night" might conjure up images of Morocco, or Barbados, or maybe even Florida. It's unlikely most of Tacoma's nights will get conjured up in this particular imagining, but maybe! In any case, there is indeed a Sultry Summer Night Soiree taking place this weekend.

To kick off the 2012-2013 season, Tacoma City Ballet hosts Sultry Summer Night Soiree-an evening of arts. And not only ballet arts, but the full range, including live music, short films, visual arts and an installation piece, dance, and some ballet in there, too. Half reception and half performance, this sultry night allows you to hob nob with the artists themselves or kick back and watch a show. Get yo' artsy fartsy on.

To make sure this event is extra sultry, Tacoma City Ballet will decorate its studio in the fashion of a sultry sultan's tent-lush and lovely and ready to carry your imagination away for an evening.

Sultry Summer Night Soiree is set to take place at the Jan Collum Ballroom at the Merlino Arts Center, 508 6th Avenue, Tacoma. There is a no-host bar and the event is 21+. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and tickets are $10 each. To purchase tickets in advance (which is recommended), call 253-272-4219.
