Hip Hop news for Tacoma

One of the newer D.J.'s to the scene putting-in-work is Qfr3_quincy (pronounced Q-frequency). His real name is Jason Ott, in case you want to friend him on FB. He's been spinning a lot lately for the likes of Blue Nose Music, Gonzo Family, $krilla, and recently D.J.'d Shao Sosa's Birthday/Northfresh Friday show. He can hold-down a Hip-Hop show - even though he's more of a party-rocking techno-type D.J.

Here in our region we don't have too many D.J.'s to choose from if we're trying to get someone to spin for us. Many of the other high-quality D.J.'s charge more than most local-underground M.C.'s can afford to pay. Not saying these D.J.'s don't deserve what they're asking for - because they do! So, if you are looking for someone to hold-down your next show, give Qfr3_quincy a try. He'll make sure all your needs on the wheels of steel are met.

    Alliance Battle League

The Alliance Battle League is still active. They've been travelling over bumpy-ground lately - trying to find a new venue. They had some step-backs at Hell's Kitchen, and they're not at Rum Runners anymore. This collective is hungry and thirsty though so I knew it was just a matter of time before they bounced-back. It looks like it happened. On June 16th they had 4 battles at Vinum Coffee and Wine Lounge. It was a daytime all-ages show.

You can hit up an A.B.L. carwash on the weekend and help support the Alliance, the kids involved, and their program. Also, like Alliance Battle League on FB to stay caught-up on all of their events. While we wait for the next battles - Check-out Hipnosis VS. Starr. There's a video on the Alliance page. From the looks of that video Tac' Battle-rappers need to step their game-up a little. Hipnosis mass-murdered Starr. #stayupthough
