We received this in the mailbox this morning....

The week of August 14 through August 19marks the 103rd year of the Southwest Washington Fair, the region's largest, and longest running community event.  The Southwest Washington Fair has also earned a reputation as the major venue for the area's largest concert events of the year. This week brings the announcement of three headline acts for the 2012 concert series at the Fair.

Grammy-award winning country act The Oak Ridge Boys will appear on the Saloon Stage Wednesday, August 15. Show time is 8:00 pm. Known to their fans worldwide as "The Oaks," they've won almost every possible award in the country music industry, including Top Vocal Group, Instrumental Group of the Year, and Single of the Year. Their hit songs like "Elvira," "Bobby Sue," "So Fine," "Fancy Free," and "American Made" connect directly with the hearts of country music lovers everywhere. This is a free show with your fair admission. Golden Circle Seats are available for $20.00 each.  Purchase prior to August 14 and fair gate admission is included.

The ALpocalypse is coming to Grandstand of the Southwest Washington Fair on Friday, August 17. Is it the end of the world? No - it's the much-anticipated return of "Weird Al" Yankovic. He's a singer, songwriter, music producer, accordionist, actor, comedian, writer, satirist, and  parodyist of modern pop culture and music. "Weird Al" has sold more than 12 million albums, recorded more than 150 parody and original songs. He's racked up three Grammy awards among nine nominations, four gold records and six platinum records here in the USA. Seeing "Weird Al" live is much more than just a concert - it's a spectacular multi-media show featuring live music, dazzling lighting, highlights of his famous videos on a huge outdoor screen, and an amazing range of costumes, characters, and songs brought to life by "Weird Al" in person. Show time is 8:30 pm. Grandstand and bleacher seats are unreserved at $25.00 each. Reserved arena seats are $35.00 each. Purchase prior to August 14 and fair gate admission is included.

The tradition of a fun "oldies" rock & roll Saturday night continues this year with a special appearance by Mark Lindsay, on Saturday, August 18.  Known as the former lead singer for Paul Revere & the Raiders, Mark Lindsay powerfully delivers favorite  hit songs  like "Silverbird," "Arizona," and "Indian Reservation." Show time is 8:00 pm. This is a free concert with fair admission. Golden Circle Seats are available at $20.00 each.  Purchase prior to August 14 and fair gate admission is included.

Sunday ushers in the Family Day Concert with the dynamic harmonies of the southern gospel group Sisters at 3:00 pm. At 5:00 pm, Big Daddy Weave returns to the Southwest Washington Fair with their contemporary Christian sound which has earned them honors all across the nation. Both concerts happen on the Saloon Stage, and both are free with fair admission. (Fair admission is ½ price for all ages on Sunday too)!
