Derby Dames on the rink this weekend

The Dockyard Derby Dames sent us this release...

Join the Dockyard Derby Dames for a totally awesome night of roller derby fun. Watch the Trampires and Hellbound Homewreckers vie for the other coveted spot in the championship bout, while the championship-bound Marauding Mollys face off with those wily gals in green, the Femme Fianna. This play-off bout is one you don't want to miss - when a chance at becoming champions is on the line, you can be sure these women will stop at nothing for a victory!

The double header at Pierce College in Lakewood starts off with the Trampires versus the Hellbound Homewreckers, followed by the Marauding Mollys taking on the Femme Fianna.

Who: Dockyard Derby Dames

When: Saturday, June 2 Doors open at 5 pm, with the first bout starting at 6 pm. 

Where: Pierce College Health Ed Center, Lakewood

Tickets: $12 in advance at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/ or $15 at the door. $10 for 6 - 12 years-old or with a military ID. Kids age 5 and under are Free; A portion of proceeds from this event benefit Pierce County Aids Foundation. www.piercecountyaids.org.

 About Dockyard Derby Dames: The Dockyard Derby Dames is a not-for-profit league run by the skaters.  Founded in 2006, Dockyard has changed from a small group of women with a dream to skate competitively to a five-team functioning league with national status. In 2010, Dockyard became nationally competitive member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). As individuals, they are teachers, accountants, mothers, lawyers, nurses, machinists, social service workers, journalists, designers, students, business women, sales associates, hairdressers, and engineers. Together Dockyard is composed of over 80 passionate, professional, and athletic women who range in age from 21 to 52 and are devoted to fostering sisterhood and good, clean competition.

Please note our bouting order for tomorrow night is: Marauding Mollys vs. Femme Fianna up first, followed by the play-off for championships between The Trampires and The Hellbound Homewreckers. You don't want to miss this!
