An undocumented Mexican laborer in Los Angeles faces a crisis when he loses his livelihood, and joins with his teenage son to win it back again. A California story that reminds of the 1948 Italian neorealist classic Bicycle Thieves. Strong performances by Demian Bichir and Jose Julian; sure direction by Chris Weitz (About a Boy). - Three and a half stars
