Ron Stallworth, an African-American police officer from Colorado, successfully managed to infiltrate the local Ku Klux Klan and became the head of the local chapter.
Director-co-writer Spike Lee recounts the story of a 1970s police officer (John David Washington, in an immensely entertaining and powerful performance) who went undercover with the Ku Klux Klan, despite being black. Searing, electric and sometimes flat-out funny, it's one of the best films of 2018. (R) - Four stars
