Bordering the Lacey, Olympia city limits is the Hawks Prairie region. Also known as Johnson Point, Hawk's Prairie is a matrimony of sleepy residential areas, forested outdoor attractions and pockets of business districts including downtown Lacey. The core of the area delivers all of your creature comforts with big box stores and corporate dining options alongside a variety of retail and commercial attractions. Among these you'll also find locally owned and operated destinations worth spelunking. Here are just a few:

Hawk's Prairie Restaurant and Sports Bar has been family owned and operated since 1978! This establishment is both a family friendly dining joint and sports bar highlighting the big games of whatever season it is with 12 flat screen TVs paired with happy hour specials. Northwest Mountain Winery is just one of many wineries in the region. Family owned and operated NW Mountain Winery sources its grapes from Eastern Washington and hand crafts its varietals. It also boasts a wicked concoction of honey and jalapeño with the FireBreathing Mead. The tasting room is comfy and includes an outdoor patio, and the service is knowledgeable and friendly. The Lemongrass in Lacey (sister store to Olympia digs) features Thai Asian Fusion cuisine in a slick, swank atmosphere. Hankering for curry, Pad Thai and egg rolls?
