Marlene's Market & Deli has been a family-owned, local, natural and organic market since 1976. We carry nutritional supplements, natural body care products, 100 percent organically grown produce, groceries for all dietary needs, gifts and housewares. Our deli features home-made entrées, soups and desserts, with a salad bar and espresso. You can expect friendly and helpful staff, clean stores and a lively shopping experience.

We are especially proud of our long-running education program, which features seminars and cooking classes on a regular basis in both our stores.

The goal of our education program is to provide information that empowers attendees to live healthy lifestyles as well as to be active participants in the health of our communities and the environment. We partner with many local and national speakers to offer information on a wide variety of health and wellness topics. Many attendees tell us they wish they knew about our education program sooner because they have finally found answers to their health issues!

Our seminars are given by leaders in the natural healing community including naturopathic doctors, nutritionists, chefs, authors, therapists and other experts. Many classes are free and the paid classes are very reasonably priced.

Our general health talks are always popular. You can learn about a broad range of topics including women's and men's health, natural skin and beauty care, how to use nutritional supplements, and complementary healing methods like homeopathy, acupuncture and yoga.

If you are interested in learning more about diet and nutrition, you could attend a class about using food to support your health goals such as maintaining gut health or disease prevention. One of the topics that our customers are often curious about is food sensitivities and allergies. We have numerous speakers who talk about the many aspects of dealing with dietary challenges and how to live with them.

At Marlene's, we also have regular cooking classes. You can learn how to prepare new types of dishes, learn new ways to prepare allergen-free meals or even how to create amazing dishes with seasonal produce. There are almost always delicious samples.

Plan to arrive early and enjoy a healthy lunch or dinner in our deli! Classes are held in both Tacoma and Federal Way. Check out marlenesmarket-deli.com/classes for our current class schedule.
