At the tender age of 7 years old, Celeste Betton began singing at her local church in Alabama without any clue as to where her voice was going to lead her in the future. Fast-forward to today, and Betton finds herself as a mother of three, Army wife currently residing at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, and a seasoned singer who won the hearts of thousands of supporters when she appeared on Season 9 of The Voice. Betton's outstanding musical talents earned her a spot on Team Pharrell that catapulted her into the national spotlight.

Betton is the first to admit that she struggled over the years with self-doubt. After trying her hand at a few talent competitions that did not go so well, she wondered whether she had what it took to become mainstream.

With her positive attitude and her faith guiding her, she pressed on. Soon, there would no more hiding her talents. Her powerhouse singing capabilities took the 2014 Operation Rising Star in Fort Stewart, Georgia by storm. As the military's version of talent shows like American Idol, Operation Rising Star is open to active-duty military or their family members. As a proud wife to Staff Sgt. Kevin Betton of 2-2 SBCT at JBLM, she auditioned for the competition. Betton won first place and easily moved on to the finals held in San Antonio, Texas.

Although Betton did not win the overall competition, she still went home with an impressive 1st runner-up standing. However, that isn't the only thing she went home with. Betton made several connections while at Operation Rising Star, one of who happened to be a vocal coach for NBC's hit show The Voice. With some encouragement, she later auditioned to be a contestant on The Voice. When the show aired in September, Betton stepped out onto the stage in a stunning leopard print dress and belted out the song, "Love You I Do", which caught the attention of Grammy Award-winning judge, Pharrell Williams. As soon as Pharrell selected her to be a part of his team, Betton's family could be seen cheering ecstatically off stage.

While maybe others let attention or fame change who they are as a person, Betton has remained humble and ever appreciative of her experiences to date. Not many up-and-coming artists can boast of accolades from award-winning artists like Adam Levine, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton. All of who had wonderful things to say about Betton during the blind auditions on The Voice that won her a spot on Team Pharrell. Betton also formed lasting friendships with her fellow competitors.

"I love the relationships I have with the other contestants," said Betton. "It's like family." In October, Betton was eliminated from the show during the Battle Round with teammate Mark Hood. Although disappointed, Betton headed home to her family with her head held high and a peace within herself. The next step for her would be planning her next move toward her ultimate goal.

Even as she reached adulthood, Betton never lost touch with her roots deeply imbedded in the military lifestyle or her religious faith. She is exceedingly proud of her mother who served in the Army for 21 years and the fact that she is now raising her children within the close-knit military community. As a gospel artist, she strives to spread the message of love, hope and peace wherever she goes - even as a celebrity in her own right. "People pray for me and believe in me," said Betton. "I want to make my entire team proud, but this experience is validation for me as well." With that newfound validation, Betton planned on moving forward.

Then everything changed with a phone call. Producers from The Voice contacted Betton to inform her that the show was conducting creative changes and were allowing the voice coaches to bring back an eliminated contestant. Pharrell insisted that Betton was to come back for another chance on The Voice. "It was very surreal!" said Betton. "I kept asking myself if this was really happening!"

Betton appeared back on The Voice for the Live Playoffs with a vengeance. Again, going back to her gospel roots, she chose to sing a cover of, "Something in the Water". As the lyrics go, with a smile on her face and joy in her heart, she gave an exquisite and moving performance that earned her respect and fans from across the country.

"The song was fitting for me," said Betton. "I now had a different perspective on not only the show but life as well." Although, once again Betton was eliminated from the show, her powerful performance not only captured the hearts of those who watched, but it also seamlessly portrayed an artist who had officially come into her own.

Betton's next step is organization. She is currently putting together a management team and hopes to one day travel, tour, and do shows across the country. Betton plans on remaining visible to the public, but at the same time, taking her time in order to put out a quality product full of excellent music. "I'd like to build a sure foundation," said Betton."Something strong to build on."

From self-doubt to the spotlight, Betton has come a long way. As Blake Shelton said, her performances are full of heart. Now that the world has had a taste of her soulful, singing capabilities, they will wait patiently for her to crossover into the mainstream and gladly watch, as her dreams become reality.
