Though fall has crept upon us, Whispering Firs Golf Course, located on McChord Field, is bringing back "Hot Summer Nights". The unique golf tournament, which had been scheduled for earlier in the year will surely challenge all golfers in an extremely fun and unique way. With the implementation of LED balls golfers will find themselves competing at the well-manicured course under the night sky.

The tournament, now being held Friday, Oct. 9, will have a start time of 7:30 p.m. Golfers will enjoy nine holes of glow golf at the world class course under moonlight. This tournament offers golfers with even the highest familiarity with Whispering Firs a new challenge as well as a chance to experience the game in a whole new way. Skills will most assuredly be pushed to their limits as the tournament gets underway.

Advanced registration is required to take part in the tournament. Interested golfers are asked to call the Whispering Firs Golf Club House to register. There is a fee of $45 per participant; the entry fee does cover so much more than a mere nine holes, however. Golfers will be treated to a barbecue one hour prior to the tournament start. Also included in registration are a cart, one glow ball, and entry for a long list of prizes.

For golfers that are not sure they can make nine holes in the dark with one ball, additional glow balls will be available for purchase at the course on the day of the tournament.

Playing at night truly tests just how well any golfer can judge their distances or read their greens. Feel free to play the game you love and push your limits while playing the only nine holes you will never forget. Not only does this tournament give golfers a chance to have a little fun and challenge themselves, it also lets you hold on to the game as the long, cold nights of winter close in.
