The early morning chill and pumpkin flavored everything are sure signs that fall has officially arrived. Just because it is sweater weather, doesn't mean that local establishments have stopped offering free activities that were overly abundant during the summer months. There is still plenty to do if you know where to look. Tillicum Library continues to offer a variety of free classes and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy.

If you're in the market to give your tech skills a much needed boost, adults can head over to Tillicum Library Monday, Oct. 5, between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. for First Track. This is a class aimed at teaching the basics of Microsoft Word, Excel, as well as how to construct impressive resumés with cover letters. The First Track class is available throughout the month of October, but a reservation is required as space is limited. If you're not as tech savvy as you'd like to be, Tillicum Library can help with that, too. Bring your tech-related questions and even bring your tech devices to Tech Help Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 1 p.m.

How prepared is your family for an emergency? Find out by attending the Family Emergency Preparedness Class Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 2 p.m. The American Red Cross will present this class and the first ten families attending will receive a free emergency preparedness starter kit. Families can enjoy the Family Movie Matinee Saturday, Oct. 17 at 1 p.m. Children will be delighted to watch a newly released DVD along with snacking on free popcorn and drinks. Early arrivals have an opportunity to receive special door prizes.

It just wouldn't be the month of October if pumpkins weren't somehow involved in one of the events at the Tillicum Library. Families are invited to attend the Marshmallow/Pumpkin Target Shoot Saturday, Oct. 24 at 2 p.m. Children and adults will learn how to create a marshmallow shooter made from PVC pipe. Participants will then use their marshmallow shooter to hit a pumpkin target. Children of all ages will also enjoy learning about the Day of the Dead on Saturday, Oct. 31. Guests are invited to create holiday-inspired crafts and to enjoy provided snacks.

Adults and children of all ages are encouraged to enjoy all that Tillicum Library has to offer. For more information on classes and events, please visit:
