Dinners don't have to be difficult and stressful during this hectic and fast-paced time of year.

For those who simply don't have the time to whip up a family feast, have circumstances that makes it more challenging to feed the crowd, or would rather just relax and leave the work to somebody else, there are options.

Most major supermarket chains offer full dinner options. Whether you need a series of side dishes or an entire meal, store delis and eateries are at the ready to help. The key is to inquire about what's available, and to learn about the ordering process (ordering early typically is highly recommended for most stores).

For those who prefer to look at local options instead of larger supermarkets, there are definitely possibilities. Here are some places to consider when it's time to start planning the feast.

Neighborhood Bistro (Tacoma Goodwill Milgard Opportunity Center, Tacoma)
For those who are entertaining at the office or with family and friends on a larger scale before or around a big holiday, consider The Neighborhood Bistro. This catering organization produces delicious and beautiful food platters, buffets and more. The best part: All catering purchases and proceeds go right back into the Goodwill's Culinary Training Program which provides valuable training to those in need in order to prepare them for a new career in the culinary industry. Stadium Thriftway (Stadium District, Tacoma)
This locally owned urban grocery store has been serving Tacomans since 1985. Their terrific deli has a number of tasty options for your dinner. Check out their website for more information at http://www.stadiumthriftway.com.

Marlene's Natural Food Market and Deli
(Tacoma and Federal Way)
Looking for healthy, fresh, natural, organic and local fare? Seeking vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free fare for your guests? Both of these terrific places offer catering options. Visit Marlene's at http://www.marlenesmarket-deli.com.

Metropolitan Market
(Proctor District, Tacoma)
This gourmet food market can create a delicious and masterful feast with a number of options. Visit their website for meal ordering options at http://www.metropolitan-market.com/ordering.

There are more online resources to consider as well. At http://www.thumbtack.com, visitors plug in their zip code and then can fill out a detailed online form about their event and can get catering quotes from local caterers sent to their email or over the phone. There are also lists of catering companies at the ready, too. This site is probably best suited for a larger dinners (minimum 15 to 20 guests).
