The Lewis Army Museum on Lewis North will have its "Living History Weekend" Aug. 3-4 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Check out unique displays showing America's military history through the years - it's free and open to the public.
The Lewis Army Museum is open Wednesdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The museum is open to the public. For those who don't have access to the base but wish to go to the museum:
Those coming northbound I-5:
- Take Exit 118 off I-5 for Center Drive toward City Center.
- Head west toward City Center on Center Drive.
- Turn Right on Wilmington Drive and Continue on Wilmington Drive as it crosses Barksdale Avenue and becomes DuPont-Steilacoom Road.
- Continue on DuPont-Steilacoom Road.
- Turn right at the gate (first right beyond small commercial area and hotel) - Pendleton Avenue on maps - and follow the gravel road up to the parking lot.
- Park in the parking lot and call the museum by cell phone at 253-967-7206
- You will be escorted through the gate to the museum on foot.
When your visit has concluded, you will be escorted back to the parking lot.
- The walking distance from our Civilian Parking Lot to the museum front door is 625 feet.
Those coming southbound I-5:
- Take Exit 119 off of I-5.
- Head west.
- Turn right onto DuPont-Steilacoom Road.
- Turn right at the gate (first right beyond small commercial area and hotel) and follow the gravel road up to the parking lot.
- Park in the parking lot and call the museum by cell phone at 253-967-7206
- You will be escorted through the gate to the museum on foot. When your visit has concluded, you will be escorted back to the parking lot.
