Atomic Comic in Tacoma, owned by Puyallup resident Shane Ziemer, will celebrate seven years of business this summer. Ziemer shares that interactive customer service is the best thing about his store. "We're here to make suggestions. There's a comic out there for everyone and my staff and I will help find it." The Tacoma store has a huge section for comics with over 400 different titles (Walking Dead, Batman, Captain America, Thor, GI Joe) and several 1000 graphic novels (Green Lantern, X-Men, Avengers, Spiderman).

Comic Book Ink is friendly and inviting. Definitely family-friendly, the store offers age-specific comics appropriate for adults and younger kids like Super Dinosaur, a very popular semi-sci-fi adventure novel about a boy genius and his pet dinosaur and for older folks the locally produced DVDs The Gamers and Journey Qwest from Dead Gentlemen Films (former PLU students). Munn stocks over 300 current comics and graphic novels, trade paperbacks, Steve Jackson Games like Munchkin, miniatures and models.

All three stores offer local, national and overseas shipping, carry apparel, posters, figurines, statues, toys and video games that are all super hero-related with pop culture under tones. Think Star Wars, Marvel and DC and more.
Speaking of more, the Olympia Comics Festival is this weekend at the Capitol Theater Saturday, May 21st. Don't miss panel discussions, question-and-answer, signings, performances, and workshops.
