SO CAL MILITARY BASE UPDATES

Your daily update and the impacts of COVID-19.  Here is your April 4 update (based on various military releases)

AD: Depressed.  No pre-approvals for Tricare - essential medical treatment for depression and anxiety - Try TMS - a TRICARE approved no-meds approach to depression, anxiety and PTSD.  See Mission Valley TMS HERE

>> MCAS Miramar and Camp Pendleton leave and liberty restrictions will mirror those of I MEF - here’s the details – all requests for leave to the person’s primary residence must be approved at the O-5 level, anywhere beyond that is at the general officer level. You are restricted to a 30-mile radius of the residence and only for essential services. Exceptions? Contact chain of command.

BASE ACCESS CHANGES: Unless listed below, all base access is operating normally including DBIDS processing at our Pass and ID office.

CANCELED EVENTS:
All MWR events are canceled or postponed until further notice; https://sandiego.navylifesw.com
Motorcycle Safety Course Postponed until further notice
E-4 Exams postponed to May 21st
Youth activity programs are canceled until further notice

CHILDCARE SERVICES:
CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTERS (CDC): All Navy Region Southwest CDCs are now operating under Child and Youth Program (CYP) Level II. To continue receiving care at one of the consolidated CDCs in the San Diego region, mission-essential personnel must submit a letter signed by a supervisor in the servicemember's chain of command. All letters must be turned into the CDC where childcare has been assigned NO LATER THAN MONDAY 30 MARCH.

COMMISSARY (DECA):
NORMAL Hours of Operations. Purchase limits in place on designated items and ID checks will be conducted at the entrance. No visitors will be allowed to accompany authorized patrons to assist with social distancing recommendations and all stores will suspend early-bird shopping to allow for cleaning and restocking.

ID CARD SERVICES:
PSD CAC ID Office (Harbor Dr) Normal Hours of Operations – with Limitations
- Emergent DEERS / RAPIDS ID Card Services ONLY
These include:
- Initial CAC issuance
- Lost/stolen CAC or Teslin ID cards
- CAC/Teslin Cards due to expire in the next 30 days
Note: It is highly encouraged that an appointment is scheduled prior to reporting to the ID card facility. Appointments can be made at https://rapids-appointments.dmdc.osd.mil. Telephonic updates to your DEERS record may be accomplished by calling 1-800-361-2508

MEDICAL SERVICES

The Naval Medical Center San Diego COVID-19 Nurse Advice Line is now live at 619-532-5358, Mon.-Fri, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Select Option 1 for information updates on COVID-19. Select Option 2 to speak with a live representative.

Beneficiaries can also call the Military Health System (MHS) Nurse Advice Line at 1-800-TRICARE (1-800-874-2273), Option 1. The MHS Nurse Advice Line is available 24/7.

Dental Clinic: Remains OPEN during regular hours 0700-1515 for emergencies and annual dental exams.
- All other appointments will be rescheduled until further notice.
- Mobile Dental Vans will not be used during this period and all patients will be redirected to the branch dental clinic for their exams.
Medical Clinic:
- Remains open during regular hours 0600-1530.
- In an attempt to ensure the safety of patients and staff during this period, the following services will be provided by phone and the Internet:
- Pre-scheduled appointments will be done by phone. Clinic staff will contact patients using their phone number on file.
- PHA’s will be completed by phone. Do not walk into the clinic. Instead, complete the online portion https://data.nmcphc.med.navy.mil and call 619-556–8103.
- For all routine care including, shave chits, fit for full duty, or renewal of light-duty chits, please use TRICARE online at https://tricareonline.com secure messaging to communicate with the clinic.
- Utilize the TRICARE nurse advice line to speak to a nurse about symptoms. Call 1-800-TRICARE and select option 1.” If the line is busy please try chatting with a nurse at www.mhsnurseadviceline.com/home
