Western Washington Traveling Skeet League

Outdoor: The Western Washington Traveling Skeet League invites shooters of all experience levels to new shooting events alternating between the McChord Field Sportsman’s Club and the Joint Base Lewis-McChord Skeet and Trap Range on Lewis Main starting Saturday at 10 a.m. on McChord Field. ‘Run, Forrest, Run’ 5K scheduled for Saturday

Races: Sign up for the Run, Forrest, Run 5K Sunday. before Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band performs at Memorial Stadium on Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Registration is $10 with military ID and $15 for those without. Open to all with access to the base. JBLM Freedom Run will include three races

Races: The 2017 Joint Base Lewis-McChord Freedom Run is July 22 at Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation’s Fest Tent on Lewis Main. The event’s 10-mile run begins at 5 p.m. Active-duty runners can qualify for JBLM’s Ten-Miler Team. This is followed by the 1K at 5:15 p.m. and the 5K at 5:30 p.m. Late registration ends Wednesday at 11:59 p.m. For those with a Department of Defense ID, it’s $30 for the 10-miler, $20 for the 5K and $15 for the 1K. Runners without a military ID pay $40 for the 10-miler, $25 for the 5K and $20 for the 1K. For more information, visit or call 253-967-4768.

CG golf scramble on McChord Field July 27

Recreation: The first Joint Base Lewis-McChord Commanding General Golf Scramble is July 27 at Whispering Firs Golf Course, on McChord Field, with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. The four-person scramble is open to all Department of Defense ID cardholders and costs $35 per player. The price includes greens fee, golf-cart rental and the chance to win prizes. Register as a team or as a single player by July 25 by calling 253-982-2124. The next commanding general scramble will be Aug. 17 at Eagles Pride Golf Course on Lewis Main.
