"It will be one of those evenings where our local spouses can discover how this community holds them in high esteem," said Ken Swarner, publisher of The Ranger and NW Airlifter newspapers. "We want spouses to have a relaxing evening together among a business community dedicated to pampering them."
The pampering event is a no sales evening. Businesses attend to provide services, gifts and prizes, no one is allowed to sell any products.
In addition, the lines leading into the event will be designed to flow quickly, therefore cutting down wait times.
The Pampering Our Spouses event follows closely on the heels of Swarner's Salute to Military Kids event in Lacey last October. That event drew 2,000 local military children to St. Martin's University ofr an afternoon of free games, entertainment, give-aways and prizes. The last time Swarner produced a pampering event was on Valentine's Day in 2010, drawing over 800 spouses the event. On Northwestmilitary.com's Facebook page, a spouse posted the following comment regarding the 2010 event: "I went to one that was held in Lacey a couple of years ago and it was amazing and fun. Highly reccommend people to go."
The pampering event is open to all military spouses and girlfriends that have a spouse or boyfriend recently or currently deployed, or that will deploy inthe future. Space is limited however to 950 spouses. To sign-up, click on www.northwestmilitary.com, the link to the online reservation is on the homepage, or click here.
