Family members of all ages can swing by one of three different locations to pick up a free cookie, meet other family members and get a heartfelt "Thank You" from the MWR during the Military Family Appreciation 2011.

"What we have planned is just a time and location to give a free cookie to anyone in that particular area that day.  We want to honor and appreciate all military family members. The cookie social brings visibility to the military family for their sacrifice, service and contribution to the military community," said Laurie Parker from the MWR office.

The cookie socials will happen during a three-day period, the locations are spread out to further accessibility. The socials begin on November 28th from 1-2pm at the McChord Field exchange, continuing November 29th from 3pm-4pm at the Lewis-Main Teen Zone, and ending on November 30th from 1-2pm at Waller Hall.

"We tried to touch base with the different demographics. We really want to recognize the families to include the teenagers and the children and their sacrifice as well. We tried to touch all different aspects of the military family," Parker said.
