Your military children sacrifice everyday in service of this great nation. Without a choice in the matter, they have bravely endured the past 10 years of war without one or two parents at home, countless times. They have graduated from school, finished first in races, participated in plays and recitals, and grown up without sharing those key moments with mom or dad.
They also pick up and move when mom or dad is reassigned. They have to make new friends, learn new routines, and often start all over.
And now it is time to honor them for those sacrifices.
"Honoring Our Military Kids: A Salute to Our Unsung Heroes" takes place October 16, 11-5 p.m. in Lacey at St. Martin's University. It is a power-packed day with free snacks, games, prizes, entertainment, raffles, and inflatables. Think of a really big school carnival with games and prizes, but add in huge inflatable toys, a visit from entertainers like the Parakeet Lady, free pizza, great raffles, free diapers for the babies, and much more. AND COMPLETELY FREE!!
Everything is free for the entire family. There will be something for all ages (the video-game trailer will be there), and we'll even have a sensory-friendly activities. It will be an event worthy of your children's sacrifices.
There will also be multiple doors of entry to significantly reduce lines. But, you must RSVP (one RSVP per family - use your name not your child's), plus on the day of the event, you must show current military ID to enter.
