Honoring Your Military Kids Event

A Salute to Our Unsung Heroes

Your military children sacrifice everyday in service of this great nation.  Without a choice in the matter, they have bravely endured the past 10 years of war without one or two parents at home, countless times.  They have graduated from school, finished first in races, participated in plays and recitals, and grown up without sharing those key moments with mom or dad.

They also pick up and move when mom or dad is reassigned.  They have to make new friends, learn new routines, and often start all over.

And now it is time to honor them for those sacrifices.

"Honoring Our Military Kids: A Salute to Our Unsung Heroes" takes place October 16, 11-5 p.m. in Lacey at St. Martin's University.  It is a power-packed day with free snacks, games, prizes, entertainment, raffles, and inflatables. Think of a really big school carnival with games and prizes, but add in huge inflatable toys, a visit from entertainers like the Parakeet Lady, free pizza, great raffles, free diapers for the babies, and much more.  AND COMPLETELY FREE!!

Everything is free for the entire family.  There will be something for all ages (the video-game trailer will be there), and we'll even have a sensory-friendly activities.  It will be an event worthy of your children's sacrifices.

There will also be multiple doors of entry to significantly reduce lines.  But, you must RSVP (one RSVP per family - use your name not your child's), plus on the day of the event, you must show current military ID to enter.

To sign-up, click here.

From the staff at the Ranger & NW Airlifter newspapers, plus our main sponsor SDC Homes, we thank you for your service.

All RSVP's will be automatically entered to receive JBLM Spouses magazine.

If you anticipate children of deployed National Guard and Reserves attending your wonderful event, please consider sharing information on the Our Military Kids grant program by having brochures available. The families will appreciate the opportunity to participate in a program that both benefits their children and recognizes their service and sacrifice. Check out our web site : www.ourmilitarykids.org.

Thank you for celebrating and recognizing the service of our littlest warriors.

Thank you for including a sensory friendly room for children with disabilities. It is hard to take my children to an event they can all enjoy. My six-year old son has Autism and will be able to take breaks if he gets too overwhelmed. Pave is an amazing company. Thanks again for thinking of ALL the military kids:)

Thank you for thinking about the kids. When your spouse is deployed multiple times, it can be difficult. I think the sacrifice is felt most with the children. THANK YOUR FOR REMEMBERING THEIR SACRIFICE! We are proud of this community.

God Bless everyone who is involved in "Honoring millitary kids event" , these children truly r the "unsung heroes": I'm very proud of my grandson Raymond for his sacrifice, resilency and acceptance of family situations as they are. I hope they have an awesome fun filled and memorable day, they deserve it. without our millitary having their "Little soldiers" home waiting for them and many times taking care of things at home definitely make it easier for our troops to do their Job. I Love and appreciate all of them. janice spiak
